These days I caught a cold and used raspberry as a medicine. So I decided why not write about this tasty and useful berry!
Raspberry contains plenty of useful and necessary for our body substances, vitamins and elements. Among them there are: iron, copper, potassium, pectin, cellulose, tannins, organic acids (salicylic acid is one of them and it has an antipyretic effect), vitamins C, PP, B1, B12, folic acid.
Haven’t you used raspberry with a tea as a medicine when you caught a cold? I think many of us did it (if not try it). The reason we do it is that because of the salicylic acid raspberry has the ability to bring down the fever.
Besides, this berry is very useful when treating such diseases as: anemia, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, atherosclerosis, kidney disease, hypertension, etc.
Leaves of raspberry contain substances that stimulate the smooth muscles of the intestine and uterus.
In addition to antipyretic properties raspberry has hemostatic and antitoxic effect, improves the appetite. Raspberry is also good for women as it has a very good effect on skin because of its composition of vitamins A, E, PP, C and B group.
Raspberry contains a large amount of copper, the latter is also a part of the majority of antidepressants. Therefore, it’s useful to people whose work or life is connected with great nervous tension.
Raspberry in comparison with other berries do not lose its properties after heat treatment.
And the last but not least… Raspberry is a very tasty berry, isn’t it?
